Lucy In Green

What did you watch this past St. Patrick's Day? Viewers of Chicago-based ME-TV were treated (or tricked?) to a marathon of classic black-and-white TV shows shown in a green tint. LLL Member, (Josh) DizzyArnizzy, writes:

A local station airs two episodes of "We Love Lucy" (half-hour versions of the "Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour") once a week, as part of a "Saturday Night/Black and White" block of classic shows.

Well, tonight they decided to get creative for St. Patrick's Day and add a green tint to every black and white show, including LDCH's "Lucy Goes to Mexico."

Did you catch Lucie on PBS last night? Our resident screencapper (LOL!) DizzyArnizzy has posted screencaps of Lucie's performance at The Kennedy Center for all of us to enjoy in the Co-Stars section of the forum. Thanks Josh!

"Abbott & Costello in Hollywood" was released on DVD today. Lucy made an uncredited appearance as herself in this movie in 1945.

"Abbott & Costello in Hollywood" can be purchased as apart of The Classic Comedy Teams Collection DVD Set which also includes the movies "Lost in a Harem", "Air Raid Wardens", "Nothing But Trouble", "Meet the Baron", and "Gold Raiders." Amazon.com is currently selling the set for $21.69 (plus shipping and handling).



"Abbott & Costello in Hollywood" has also been packaged into a set with "Lost in a Harem" and can be purchased from Amazon.com for $11.19 (plus shipping and handling).
