Today TVShowsOnDVD.com reported that there is a rumor that I Love Lucy - The Hour Shows (a.k.a The Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour) is "dead certain" to be released on DVD from Paramount/CBS in 2007. The site was also able to get a description of the series from the studio even though a confirmed released date for the DVD Set hasn't been formally announced.
This isn't really news to us since other sources have confirmed the DVD being released since September and we were given the tentative release date in early October. Until we are told otherwise, expect the Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour DVD Set in stores on February 13, 2007.

I don't get to write about William Frawley (a.k.a Fred Mertz) in this blog very often because he just isn't mentioned in the media as much as his fellow I Love Lucy castmates. No wonder the special edition release of the original Miracle on 34th Street slipped passed my radar yesterday! Frawley made an appearance as Charlie Halloran in this classic holiday film from 1947.
Miracle on 34th Street - Special Edition is a two-disc set and is currently priced at $14.99 at amazon.com.
Most diehard I Love Lucy Fans know that William Frawley's last TV appearance was as a maintenance man in a 1965 episode of The Lucy Show entitled, "Lucy and the Countess Have a Horse Guest."

Wilmer Valderrama, 26, listed Desi Arnaz as one of his influences in an interview with The Chicago Tribune.
Professionally, two people influenced my career: Anthony Quinn and Desi Arnaz. Quinn was probably one of the greatest character actors. Desi Arnaz [played] Ricky on "I Love Lucy." Most people don't understand what he contributed to television. He created the multicamera process ... the actors were covered from different angles.
