1943, Warner, unrated, $15

Lucille Ball plays Lucille Ball … and, like, who else would you want in the role? Exclusively available, in a combo deal with Warner Home Entertainment, from Amazon.com.

Back story: If you filter out bits or minor assignments, this MGM adaptation of the hit Broadway musical is basically the movie that got June Allyson, Gloria DeHaven, Nancy Walker and then-dance director/actor Stanley Donen into Hollywood features. An ill-advised publicity campaign wins a geeky military school cadet a "date" with Lucy. The comedy ranges from labored to fun, but the numbers are zesty: the once-popular Buckle Down Winsocki, an amusing duet with Walker and bandleader Harry James, plus the near-classic The Three B's, with Allyson, DeHaven and Walker in prom dresses.

Extras, extras: An Allyson short; cartoon.
