And while Vasquez agrees with Ramirez in regard to Prinze's prominent role in the evolution of Latino comedy, she takes its origins a couple decades farther.
"In terms of sitcoms, Desi Arnaz led the pack," she said. "That was a mixed marriage way back when, and I remember there being episodes of them going to Cuba, and with the political attitudes towards Cuba, that made it even more different."
