Lucille Ball's Dried Up Lemons Sell For $152 on eBay

From Daily Southtown.com:

They were just some dried up lemons once owned by Lucille Ball, but Sean Lindsay was able to sell them on eBay for $152.

In Tinley Park on Thursday, the Monee resident was trying to persuade visitors to the Chicago Southland Chamber's Expo & Conference he could turn their lemons into lemonade.

An exhibitor at the 21st annual business-to-business event, Lindsay touted his home-based business, iSellYourItems, as the Southland's "first mobile eBay consignment business."

Rather than taking items to an eBay drop shop, Lindsay drives to customer's homes to pick up goods and then sells them, for a fee, on the popular online auction site. It's been his full-time job since April.

The customer with Lucy's lemons had picked them up at an estate sale. Lindsay started the bidding on eBay at 99 cents.

"They were just four little dried up lemons," he said. They sold for $152.50.

Lucy M.I.A. From Best of Donny & Marie DVD

DizzyArnizzy (Josh) writes:

Well, I have some disappointing/unfortunate news.

I received an early release copy of the "Donny & Marie" (Best of; Volume 1) DVD set today, and neither Lucy nor Desi are included on the set.

DizzyArnizzy also noted that Lucille Ball's name had been removed from the DVD's order page and that the set contains 3 DVDs instead of the 4 advertised. You can read DizzyArnizzy's full review (and see screencaps!) here:

Desi's Dance Partner Still Kicking High - Corrected

Desi and Lucy

**Correction - I now believe that Tronzo was on Broadway with Desi and not in the movie version of Too Many Girls. I have corrected this blog entry to reflect this.

At age 16, Key Tronzo danced alongside Desi Arnaz on Broadway in Too Many Girls. Where is Ms. Tronzo now? According to The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, she's still dancing! Tronzo stated:

"It's a happy thing to do and is good for you physically and mentally. I hope to die dancing."

Tronzo ,80, continued performing on Broadway after appearing in Too Many Girls, but returned to her home in Houston, Texas sooner than she expected because her father didn't approve of her career.

November Reflections Contest - Entries Due Nov. 1

Kyle writes:

In an effort to revive the use of Lucys and to have a little fun, I have decided to start another competition. This competition is a reflections competition, and will happen bimonthly. Basically, there will be a topic or prompt of some sort, and if you would like to participate, you must enter a repsonse to the topic in some artistic form. The entry can be in any medium: photography, poetry, music, etc.

This month's topic is:

My Favorite Lucy Moment

All entries are due by November 1st. All you must do is post them in this thread [Official Board Competitions->November Reflections Contest]. Please feel free to comment on others' attempts, but keep it nice! You may enter more than one thing, and, if you feel it to be necessary, you may take out one of your attempts and create a new one, or just leave it out completely.

The winner will receive 1000 Lucys. All participants will receive 200. Have fun!

Lucys are the currency of The Long Live Lucy Forum. You can use them to purchase prizes in the Ye Ol' Lucy Shoppe. Good luck!

Joan Collins on Lucille Ball

Joan Collins goes for laughs:

"People don't think good-looking women are funny," comments Collins during a telephone interview the morning after Legends! opened its North American tour in Toronto after three weeks of previews. "The only one who got away with it is Lucille Ball.

Joan Collins, 73, is best known for her role as Alexis Carrington on Dynasty.
